This was a great course. It requires hard work, but overall is very rewarding. This is one of those classes that will be useful to you no matter your major.

This course is one of the best Economics classes I have taken thus far at Akron. The professor was very compassionate in his grading and in his deadlines, showing initiative in understanding a student's struggles and working with the student to resolve any issues. The classes were detailed and thorough, offering real world examples of several different topics discussed, allowing for a more in-depth understanding of the economic principles discussed in the lectures. The lectures offered various resources of study to the students, giving students more than one outlet to learn the material for that week. Overall, this course was one of my best: This class alone has made me interested in applying for a Minor in Business at UA and I look forward to working with the College of Business again.
This couse is a good option for most students, even if you do not particularly have an interest in economics.  It teaches very important econ-related concepts that are important to know and understand, but also shows you important analytical skills that are crucial in solving problems and thinking effectively about issues and their potential solutions.  The completely online format is good to fit between students' schedules, especially if they have weird gaps of time between classes since they can work at their own pace.
This course is effective at doing what it wants: to teach students about basic economics. I personally came into this believing I would love economics, only to find out that I really don't. I'm a creative person, and entrepreneurial aspirations are what made me believe I would like it. Although, it's not really a let down. I found out something about myself taking this class. And despite it being on the more "negative" side of things, I believe everyone has a purpose and mine just does not correlate to this kind of economics (graphs and whatever else). I cannot say the next student that comes along will love or hate this class. That's the beauty of it. It's learning what you love, even if you head into it with the mentality of "this is simply a gen-ed."
Honetsly I would recommend that any student taking this course should take their note extremely seriously and to review them before any quiz. Due to the little instruction recieved it mostly on you to learn and master the material so stduying notes is the biggest part. As well one should not procrastinate because trying to finish all your work the day it is due was unrealistic and I learned quickly from the beginning of the course. Overall I was successful, so I cannot complain about the professors teaching and the modules created to relay the material.
This course is important for a student in any major.  It is easy to be unknowegable of economics even though you believe you understand it.  I thought this would be the case for me, believing that I already understood all I needed for economics.  In reality there is so much more about eceonimcs that I was not aware of and many things I had misunderstood.
This course teaches a basic overview of the major topics in micro- and macroeconomics. While many modules are able to be sped through in a few hours at once, you'll probably end up getting blindsided by some of the later, harder modules if you always do them on the last day possible.
For this course, the most important thing that you need to understand is, don't slack off. Now this sounds like a given but don't. Even if you think you understand what is going on, sometimes a graph will have abbreviations and multiple lines and if you aren't paying attention then you may not understand what the short term supply or aggregate line means. Graphs are very important in economics so make sure you understand how to read and use those as well. Also go into the class with a clean slate. Just because you think you know how the economy works doesn't mean you are right and you will have a harder time understanding that way. Overall I would recommend this class, sure it is a little difficult but it is interesting at the same time.
From micro to marco, this course is going to give you a very good overview of economics.
I personally had a really good experinece with this economics course! I think a lot of time people dislike the idea of a 100% asychronous course, however, this course was well constructed and the professor did a good job of keeping communication but letting us work at our own pace.
I believe that this course has a lot of useful information for students going into the economic field. It gets in depth with the small details and how the overall impact the economy.
It is a very interesting class and subject particularly if you are starting to do internships/co-ops. You start to see economics use in real life for decision making. With that being said, this course requires a good amount of reading and studing. I will say that I spent anywhere from 8-10 hours per week studying.
As an engineering student just filling a requirement, I was at first reluctant about taking this course.  However, the way the course and material is organized and presented, I have benefited greatly from this course.  A lot of things learned have real world application, so overall I was happy to have taken this course.
This is a completely independent course. You have 3 tries to get a 10/10 on the weekly quizzes, but it's not as easy as it seems. Grading is fairly straightforward. You will need to put in about a schoolday's worth of work every week to complete your work for the week. It is not difficult to end with a passing grade, as long as you do what is required of you.
This course is 100% online.  The material is split up in 15 modules with no homework!  The way you get points is through 12 quizzes and 2 essays.  You are allowed 3 attempts per quiz, counting your highest attempt towards the final grade.  The material is sut up in a very organized manner. Also, the weekly schedule doesn't change, this is one of the best aspects of this course.  If you decide to take this course you will not be disappointed!
This class was very clear and striaght forward. If you keep on top of work and use the resources and information given you should have no trouble passing with a high grade. It essy enough to get ahead, in fact if you were so inclined you might be able to get the course down in a month or two if you worked on nothing but this class. The assigments unclocking as you go means if you know another class is going to give you a lot of work in futre weeks you can work ahead in this one to free up time.
This class was very good for an online class. I personally do not do well in online classes and would rather be in person, but currently we cannot meet in person for classes. The great thing is that this class isn't a first time online class, and has been online for a while. That means that everything is well thought out and works nearly flawlessly. Each module is set up in a similar way so that once you complete the first one, the rest are all similar besides the content. The information was plainly laid out and easy to sit down and read. Overall I would highly reccomend this course.
This course gives you insight into everything to do with economics. You gain different perspectives on topics that you thought you already knew about and can now apply the knowledge you gained to make your own informed decisions about topics in politics and about the economy. You will learn about how different policy decisions such as taxes, minimum wages, or the decisions made by the Federal Reserve actually affect you and others. The course contains modules that you complete each week that include powerpoint presentations and videos to watch about the information. At the end of each module there is a quiz or essay that you must complete to move onto the next module. The workload is pretty manageable, and the online option allows you to complete the module at the time during the week that fits into your schedule.
This class in unneccisarily long and drawn out as well as difficult. As an engineering student I can sy that this class is structured to make it harder than even the hardest engineering course.
This is a very interesting course when you engage with it. You will learn a lot and it's great for teaching you all the things you wish they taught people in public school. It will make you a more educated and well-rounded person.
Introduction to Economic Analysis is an amazing course that covers a large span of topics. These topics are based primarily out of the principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics and are easy to follow along with. The online nature of this course allows you to work on your assignments at your own pace and the mastery system used ensures that you have a good understanding of a concept before moving forward. If you have any interest at all in economics, I highly recommend this course since it is a great way to dip your toes in to the field and keep your GPA up in the process.
Hello, Introduction to Economic Analysis is a very interesting class if you are interested in business, the stock market or just wondering how and why certain prices are chosen for specific goods. This class goes over a whole variety of economic topics so with no information in economics it can make certain topics difficult to understand. I suggest if you take this course to have a list of the vocabulary learned from each module so you can easily see the definitions of past vocabulary words that are used in future modules. The quizez you get to take three times but each time the questions change. Each quiz has a few tough questions that are tricky but its usually only one or two per quiz. The rest of the questions are usually answered right in the powerpoint presentation. Make sure to read both the power point slides and the "summary" of the chapters. Which is like a 3-4 page summary of the 60 page power point. Some answers are only answered in the power point or in the summary, so make sure to look at both. The professor is very kind and obviously loves this topic and will no doubt answer any questions you have, as well as giving a few extra days to complete quizes or assignments.
This course is mastery based so it is essentially impossible for you not to learn.  Of course, you have to put in the work too; but it is interesting material, and easy to do.  Quizzes are not too time consuming as well as the powerpoints, videos, etc. in the modules.  It is a good course to take and very informative.
Introduction to Economic Analysis was a very intersesting course and the knowledge gained is something that will help one in the future. Regardless of career or any other factors, a strong understanding of economics is very important for adults to have. This class doesn't necesarily teach you which aspects are always the best, but it teaches you to learn how to make those decisions for yourself, so I would highly recommend this course to future students because, simply stated, it is stuff you need to know.
This course is self paced and requires more self discipline than a standard online course. It does teach the basics of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.Make sure to submit your work within the time limit or else it can affect your grade and your motivation to complete the course. You need to test out of each module with a score of 8 or higher within 15 minutes. There are three attempts and as it is stated in the beginning of the course, refrain from taking them back to back.Instead revise the portion that is being tested and take an attempt after reviewing your answers.
This class is a class that if you want to learn the basics of economics, I suggest you take the class.
Introduction to Economic Analysis pushes for the learning of economics, not just memorization. The professors are very knowledgeable and provide a number of outside resources to reinforce the material. The evaluations are a fair assessment, and the modules split up the material in a way that makes sense. Overall, I would recommend taking this course.
Just make sure to do a little every day. If you take the time, you will be fine.
This course is convinent and has a loose structure to follow. This is good for students who want to take time flexible classes. Additionally, one should take this course if they only want to be graded off of quizzes and a few essays. If one usually relies on participation and homework grades, then this is not the class for them.
Great class with a good professsor. You will learn a lot throughout this class and come out with more knowlege on economics.
This course offers a well-rounded introduction to the field of economics. Dr. Myers has sourced a large amount of additional material for this class and has organized it well. If a student is merely interested in passing the course, that can be achieved without studying every single document, but if a student would like to learn more about each chapter, the supplementary materials are more than sufficient.
This course is very easy to succeed in. You must have decent time management skills, but you can do readings and assignments at pretty much your own pace and are given plenty of time to complete each module. The concepts are not too difficult and many outside resources like videos are provided to further your understanding. Overall you will learn a lot about economics and will likely get a good grade.
Overall, this course is a great introduction to economics and the information learned in this course is not just for academics, but can also contribute to personal development. The set up and organization of this online course is easy to follow, and the instructor has the students best interest in mind. Independence and self dicipline is required to be able to sucessfully complete a course in this format, but there are many resources that can help along the way.
Overall this class has been one of the best online classes I have had the oppurtunity to take in my two years of college so far. Everything was set up nicely and everything was easy to find. I wish my other professors did what Dr. Meyers did with the weekly modules because it allows you to take the course one step at a time. I had to take this course because it was a requirement for mechanical engineering but I would reccomend taking it anyway because you will learn economic principles that will help you throughout your life. Overall a very solid course.
I recommend this course to anyone who is an analytical thinker so long as they are good at managing their time. The content/material covered in this course can be fairly interesting and is presented in a way that makes it easy to grasp and understand. Nonetheless, since it is a asynchronious course, if one elects to take this course, they should be ready to allocate a certain part of each day or a whole day to focus on completing modules in this course so they do not fall behind.
